This blog is dedicated to prekindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade teachers and anyone else who works with students to strengthen literacy skills. My goal is to provide you with research-proven best practices to assist you in the classroom. I have been teaching for 30 years and am currently a kindergarten teacher in Louisiana. I graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education (grades 1-8), received my kindergarten certification from Southeastern Louisiana University, and recently completed a Masters of Literacy through American College of Education. Although I am very close to retirement, I plan to continue my passion for teaching by working with both adults and students in my community.
